Pneumatic conveying and advanced trailer loading.
The customer needed a complete solution for filling a silo with fishmeal. From the silo, the fishmeal should be conveyed to a loading area approx. 120 meters away from the silo. The loading area should be designed for loading a truck with up to 10 t/h.
In close cooperation with the customer, engineers from PAM developed this state of the art solution. Most equipment was made of stainless steel and the loading area was designed to reduce nuisance dust created from the handling process.
The end result was a solution consisting of a pneumatic transport system (dilute phase) conveying the fishmeal from the factory outlet into a storage silo at a rate of 600 kg/h. Once a truck is in position at the loading bay approx. 120 meters way from the storage silo, the loading process can be activated either locally or from the central control room. The fishmeal is then conveyed pneumatically to the loading section. Here the fishmeal is first collected in a receiving cyclone and from that point it is distributed via a large screw conveyor equipped with 6 loading bellows and a small vacuum system to remove nuisance dust from the loading process. The loading unit is programmed for sequential loading to ensure efficient and even loading over the entire length of the truck positioned below.
For this project PAM designed and manufactured all mechanical and electrical equipment, including electrical cabinets and software/programming. Furthermore, we provided supervision for assembly and commissioning.
